Opening of the green
We are delighted to announce that our centenary season will get underway on Monday 19th April, with the opening of the green. The management committee have reviewed the 'Return to play' guidance from Bowls England and have put in place a set of measures to ensure that these guidlines are followed and the safety of our members is ensured.
Our members are currently working hard to ensure the club is ready for the opening with on-going maintenance work being carried out both on the green and inside the club to ensure our 100th year as a bowls club is a successful one.

Bowls England Update - Return to play: Step One
Our governing body, Bowls England, have released guidance for affiliated clubs, to help facilitate a safe return to the sport, supplementing the government guidance on organised sport. This comes on the back of the governments recent roadmap of the steady easing of lockdown restrictions in England.

Bowls' Big Weekend 2021
We are pleased to announce we have have signed up to the Bowls England led initiative, Bowls' BIG Weekend. Please keep an eye on the website and our social media platforms for updates on the on when we will be holding our 2021 open day.

Sports England Community Emergency Fund
We are delighted to announce that we have received a £2,500 grant from the Sports England Community Emergency Fund to cover green maintenance and cutting for the period of March to July 2020.
Chris Moore, Club Chairman, said “this is brilliant news and will help the club keep the green to a high playing standard during these unprecedented times."

COVID-19 Lockdown Update - Management Committee Announcement
We are delighted to announce that Holt Bowls Club is opening for non-competitive bowls from 1pm, Friday 19th June 2020. The Management committee has made careful decisions about the opening of the Bowls green and we now feel it’s the right time to offer limited playing capacity.
This is to ensure everyone can adhere to social distancing to maintain the safety of our members and volunteers, which remains our top priority.

COVID-19 Lockdown Update - Management Committee Announcement
Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Sunday May 10th and subsequent publication of the UK Government’s COVID-19 Recovery Strategy last week, Holt bowls club has been working closely with Bowls England and Bowls Wiltshire to determine the best course of action.
We have been seeking clarification from all relevant parties, in order to publish the best operational guidance for our club and its members, which will ensure everyone is safe to play bowls.

COVID-19 Update - Management Committee Announcement
As you are aware Bowls England has announced the cancellation of all its domestic events ahead of the 2020 bowls season in response to the latest Government advice and growing concerns from bowlers about how the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak will impact on our much loved game.
Due to this, to counter the spread of coronavirus, Holt Bowls Club is closed with immediate effect. The management committee will review the situation on an on-going basis and will be following guidance from Bowls England and Bowls Wiltshire.

New parking arrangements announced
From the start of the 2020 season Holt Bowls Club will be using a local parking facility, The Glove Factory, for all home matches. This is due to new parking restrictions being placed along the main road, and to ease congestion during peak times. As parking is limited, we ask all visitors to be mindful and share lifts where possible.
