Progress in the Top Club
Posted by Wayne Simmonds on 21 June 2019
We have had another successful week, by progressing in the National Top Club competition against a strong Salisbury side, with wins also coming either side of the top club win in both the Wilts Four and Three rink leagues, with victories against Chippenham Park and Wilton respectively.
On Tuesday evening we took on Salisbury, arguably one of the strongest sides in the south of Wiltshire, in the third round of the National Top Club competition. We had the added disadvantage of being away from home, however with strong performances across the board we managed to come out on top with narrow wins in both the singles matches and pairs, with a narrow defeat in the fours and a comfortable win in the triples.
We now face either Box or Spencer Moulton in the fourth round.
Either side of the top club win we had league victories, firstly against Wilton in the three rink league and then secondly, against Chippenham Park in the four rink league. The wins maintain our strong recent run of results and keep us in pole position for the four rink playoffs and the three rink title.
